The Estate

Welcome to Meadows Estate Vineyard and Winery, formally known as MarshAnne Landing Winery, a family-run winery and vineyard located in the heart of the Umpqua Valley in Southern Oregon, just 20 minutes north of Roseburg and 3 miles off I-5. Historically, the location was used by Native Americans as a winter basecamp and later, a stage coach stop in route between Portland and San Francisco.

Our goal is to continue the Cramer legacy of producing flavorful “Out of This
World Wines” from fruit meticulously grown and freshly harvested from our
own 17 Acre vineyard. Our grapes are varietals traditionally grown in the
Rhone and Bordeaux regions of France. Popular varietals include, Pinot
Noir, Syrah, Viognier, Tempranillo and Chardonnay to name a few.

Soil

The hillside alluvial soils are made up of clay and sand loam, while heavier clay soils are found in the valleys. These soils are conducive to grape-growing as they are free-draining but offer good water retention.

Climate

One of Oregon’s more diverse climates, the Umpqua Valley can successfully grow both cool and warm varieties. The Northern area around the town of Elkton enjoys a cool, marine-influenced climate.

Grapes

Pinot Noir, Syrah, Grenache and Merlot from varietals traditionally grown in the Rhone and Bordeaux areas of France. A long growing season with generous hang times creates well ripened fruit.

Meadows Estate Vineyard & Winery

Located in the heart of the Land of Umpqua with Roseburg being the largest city within the Umpqua Valley American Viticultural Area (AVA). The Umpqua River rolls through town, and out to a picturesque land of covered bridges and waterfalls, hiking and biking trails. There’s even the nearby Wildlife Safari to enjoy during your wine-touring stay.

This is the Umpqua Valley AVA – a series of valleys and hills on the same latitude as those running directly through some of Europe’s greatest grape-growing districts. Drier and warmer than the Oregon wine regions to the north, and cooler than the Rogue and Applegate wine regions to the south, you’ll find Burgundian wines varieties like Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, Bordeaux’s such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and even Spanish varietals Tempranillo and Allbarino.
